A great horror film has hit Latin American theaters! The film follows Laura Villegas, who begins to behave strangely after a séance. Alarmed by the sinister and questionable behavior of their daughter, her parents ask for help from Father Olmedo, an exorcist authorized by the Church.
13 Exorcismos stars Ruth Díaz, María Romanillos, Urko Olazabal, and José Sacristán, who talked about the huge challenge of playing this role. To carry out his character, the actor faced it as if it were the first time he was acting.
Directed by Jacobo Martínez, the film is not entirely fiction but it is rather inspired by the figure of Father Jesús Hernández Sahagún, who was involved in a controversial exorcism of a seventeen-year-old girl in 2014 in Burgos. Sahagún was charged with coercion and physical violence but was not convicted.
13 Exorcismos is now available in theaters in Brazil, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Mexico, and Argentina.
