On the Basis of Sex is the new film by Mimi Leder that will take us to the secrets of the life of an extraordinary woman: Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Starring Felicity Jones, it is about the strong advocate for women's rights who, in 1993, became the second justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, and the first of Jewish origin.
Overcoming barriers
The film focuses on her first years as a lawyer and recalls the milestones of her tireless struggle to achieve feminist recognition in a men’s world.
No doubt Ginsburg has overcome all kinds of barriers throughout her life. She became one of the leading voices of the liberal wing of the Supreme Court of the most powerful country in the world. Thus, Ginsburg has voted in favor of abortion and the rights of homosexuals, in addition to express herself against death penalty.
But there is more. Because today, at 85, Ginsburg continues to make history as justice of the court. And, of course, now she has her own movie.
